As part of its long-standing expertise in technology, photonics, defence and strategic industries, Gimar & Co supported Photonis Group, now Exosens, in the execution of its external growth strategy through the acquisition of two highly complementary European technology leaders: Xenics in Belgium in 2023 and Centronic in the United Kingdom in 2024.
These transactions strengthened Exosens’ position as a leading global provider of advanced imaging, detection and sensing technologies, while expanding its technological capabilities and international footprint.
Xenics (Belgium) – 2022
To accelerate its growth in infrared imaging technologies, Photonis acquired Xenics, a recognised Belgian specialist in infrared sensors, cameras and imaging solutions.
Gimar & Co acted as exclusive advisor to Photonis throughout the acquisition process. Our team identified Xenics as a highly strategic target, initiated discussions with the shareholders, and managed the transaction process through to successful completion. By combining deep sector expertise with an extensive international network, Gimar & Co helped create a transaction that strengthened Photonis’ position in advanced imaging technologies and broadened its product offering across defence, industrial and scientific applications.
Centronic (United Kingdom) – 2024
In 2024, following its rebranding as Exosens, the Group continued its acquisition strategy with the purchase of Centronic, a leading UK-based manufacturer of photonic and radiation detection technologies.
Gimar & Co supported Exosens from the earliest stages of the transaction. Our mandate included identifying and assessing potential acquisition targets, approaching shareholders confidentially, creating a constructive dialogue between the parties, and negotiating the terms of the acquisition.
