Christian Giacomotto began his career as a capital markets specialist in France, the United Kingdom and the United States.
He acted successively as Group CIC’s CEO from 1982 to 1984, Compagnie Financière du CIC’s and CIC Paris’ CEO from 1984 to 1987. Christian went on to co-found Arjil Bank and became its Chairman of the Board of Managing Directors from 1987 to 1994 and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Lagardère SCA. He served as Chairman of the Board of Managing Partners of Dresdner Kleinwort Benson SCA from 1995 to 1999 and Director of the Dresdner Kleinwort Benson Group in London. He founded Gimar & Cie in 1999 and oversaw the company as chairman of management until January 2015. Christian entrusted the Gimar & Co business to his younger partners in 2024 while remaining closely involved in the business relationships with long-standing clients.
Christian is also a member of the Board of the National Museums Authority, Honorary Chairman of the ARMMA (Friends of the Middle Ages National Museum at the Musée National du Moyen-Age, Thermes de Cluny), and Chairman of the Auditory Committee of the AFM (Association France Museums), which was instrumental in the establishment of the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
