Gimar & Co is an elite, independent advisory house rooted in the tradition of Parisian Haute Finance: excellence and independence. Christian Giacomotto, art collector, longstanding partner of the Louvre, former President of Groupe CIC, and architect of the Arjil investment bank, founded Gimar & Co on a conviction that has not changed in twenty-six years: that the most consequential decisions deserve advisory services meeting three criteria. Complete independence from conflicts of interest. Full seniority throughout. A perfect fit with the client’s situation.
We do not process deals. Like a discerning collector, we select with patience, with conviction, and with an eye for what others have not yet seen. A successful transaction, like a great work, is the result of vision, timing, and expertise.
Today, the firm is led by Stéphane Olmi, who shaped the earliest transactions of the LVMH Group alongside Bernard Arnault and later served as Executive Director at Lazard, and by François Barthélémy, former CEO of an asset management firm, blockchain entrepreneur, and a financial infrastructure specialist. Two careers that together span the full arc of modern finance, from the origins of French luxury to the frontier of digital assets.

A founding relationship. Christian Giacomotto's engagement with the Louvre is the origin point of a conviction that runs through everything Gimar & Co does: that the institutions which protect what is rare and lasting deserve active support, not passive admiration.
Christian Giacomotto, as President of the Société Internationale des Amis du Bardo in Tunis, entered into a sponsorship agreement with the MUCEM for the exhibition Les Lieux Saints Partagés, a landmark exploration of shared sacred heritage across Mediterranean cultures. A reminder that the most valuable things are rarely owned by one tradition alone.
Two institutions, one year, one thread: the belief that great art belongs to no single geography. The Musée de Cluny, guardian of medieval European heritage. The Louvre Abu Dhabi, a bridge between Paris and the Gulf built on the premise that culture is the most durable of all common grounds. Gimar & Co's presence in both reflects the same reach that informs our approach to cross-border advisory.
An engagement with France's foremost institution for art-historical research and scholarship — a discipline that trains the same faculty we consider essential to financial advisory: the ability to situate a thing within its history, to understand what it is by understanding what it came from.
The bedrock of our House. Our independence is structural, not aspirational: we hold no proprietary positions, manage no conflicting mandates, and carry no institutional agenda into a client relationship. What you receive is counsel that is entirely yours: built around your situation, aligned with your goals, and accountable to no one else.
We do not mistake tradition for permanence. The firm that Christian Giacomotto founded in 1999 is now led by a former Lazard Managing Director and a blockchain startup co-founder, because the sectors we advise in do not stand still, and neither do we. Innovation, for us, is not a posture. It is the refusal to assume that the approach that worked yesterday is the one that will work tomorrow.
We measure ourselves against a standard that has nothing to do with volume. A great transaction, like a great work, is the result of profound vision, technical mastery, and the discipline to refuse shortcuts at every stage. We take on fewer mandates than a larger firm precisely so that each one can be done to that standard, and so that every client can count on the full weight of our attention throughout.
This is not a metaphor for us. François Barthélémy trained at the École du Louvre and is a painter whose work has been exhibited in galleries across Europe. When we speak of craft and execution, we mean it in both senses.
